Twisted Sketch 145

Hello! Here we are... another week of Twisted Sketches! I loved Anam's sketch she sent us,  and with two photos it left room for lots of creative opportunities! The twist for this sketch is "yellow".

Supplies: Paper - Basic Grey, MME, Crate Paper, Echo Park; Flowers - Prima; Wood buttons - Prima; Letters - Echo Park & Crate Paper; Journaling tag - unknown.

The first photo is  a picture of the farm house I grew up in and the second is the house as it is today. Here is the what the journaling reads:

After mom and dad sold the farm in 1994 it did not take long for the owners to sell the house. The new owners moved it to a lake where they renovated it. It was a surprise to me to see it on the MLS listings. After all these years it still looks inviting and brings back many childhood memories.

If you would like to play along with the Twisted Sketches, you can join in by heading over to the website. The other Twisted Sisters have some amazing takes on this one! They also have sketches for you card lovers out there :)

Just a quick reminder of the next Mail Art Exchange - if you have indicated your interest but have never joined us before, please email me your contact information. Thanks!  My email address is:

  1. That is where our countries are just so different - we don't go around moving houses :0)
This is my dream house - when I watch the building shows I always love the wooden clap-board style. Beautiful x

  2. I can't imagine moving a house....just not something we do!!! It looks beautiful though.

  3. How on earth do you move a house? I don't think that would EVER happen round here! It is a particularly lovely house though. The colours are fantastic.

  4. Ginger, I really like the colors you used and the layout. Very cool story as well :)

  5. What a lovely home to have grown up in - and i did wonder at the story behind your fabulous layout title. Moving a house - you did make me smile, we don't do that here in the UK.

Enjoy your photography class, you'll have to let me know how you get on and hopefully we'll see some of the fantastic photos you take x

  6. Wow! There is a tv show we watch here about actually moving houses and I find it fascinating. The whole idea of going back to the house you grew up in resonates with me right now. We were talking about it last night.

You asked about the clothes pegs - I found them in a cheap stationery shop here.

  7. I remember seeing houses sitting on the backs of huge trucks, when we were in the USA..I couldn't believe that they actually literally MOVE homes over there! Great LO Ginger!

  8. wow such an interesting post Ginger! Like so many others have said this is such a wierd concept to me in England, moving a house!

  9. How amazing, moving an entire house! Glad it kept its memories for you, though. I love that sunny yellow background and the yellow flower ...
