A Little Behind

I have to say I have not been very motivated these last few days...the beginning of the week was so gorgeous with a record temperature of 31 degrees on Tuesday, Woo Hoo, I just wanted to spend some time outside. Today it is cool and raining... I should be doing my housecleaning but I am avoiding it (nothing new here) LOL! I will get to it later... Marvin is coming home late tonight... he has been in Virginia this past week for work, and I have to buy him his birthday gift...

Here are a few pictures from my weekend away... We had so much fun... Wendy and I shared a room and we pretty much giggled ourselves to sleep at night...

SueAnn, the person who organizes the retreat twice a year, has chosen a new location for the next one. It will be at Pigeon Lake in a newer building with better accommodations. Really looking forward to the next one!

I did get a few things finished and I'll share a couple layouts...

How appropriate for the heat we had this week! I love sitting outside for summer BBQ's. This is Marvin making ribs on the Big Green Egg!

For this layout I used Paislee Press paper, and added a bit of paint. For the word "summer", I used the mask from leftover sticker letters and painted the word summer in yellow (this was an idea from my Textuality class at BPS). The stars, journaling card and date tab are all digital from Crystal Wilkerson over at Jessica Sprague which you can find here. It was great I printed them off at home and they went so well with this layout!

Here is my other layout. Remember a few weekends ago it was National Scrapbooking Weekend and the gals at TM took photos of us on the Red Carpet for the Gala Event... well, here is a layout I made of Wendy and I on the carpet!
Soooo much fun! Thanks to Victoria at Treasured Memories for taking these photos and then Chantel & KC's mom (Laurie) printed them for us so we had the pictures the next morning.

Papers are from Prima, Websters, Kaiser Kraft and MME. I used a prima swirl stamp behind the photo, and look at those red flowers... those are from Nadine's make and take (#2 coffee filters, sprayed with Glimmer Mist). Added Prima flowers as well.

There you have it... so now I must get my butt in gear!

Have a great Friday!!

Got My Swap Goodie Bag!

A few weeks ago Lisa had put together a swap between scrappers, so I signed up and had to look through my supplies and send to my swap buddy what I wanted to give away (things that I have had in my stash and was not using). So yesterday I got my goodie bag!! Lisa and I swapped supplies and here is a photo of my new old stash! LOL!
She gave me so many cool things! YEah! I especially love the cut out dolls! Thanks Lisa!!

Here is the only layout I was able to complete this weekend.... In our Dimensional Details class we received the "Beauty" title as a free digital download from Louise Williams who is a hybrid is how I used this awesome digi title. I love it with this photo... This layout also made it in my Textuality class as this weeks assignment was on "quotes & titles".
Used K& Company's, Que Sera line of papers, a turquoise Hambly screen, and a Memory Makers journaling page.

Well it's getting late and I must get some rest because tomorrow evening I need to start packing for my Scrapbooking Getaway weekend!!

Have a great night everyone.

Yesterday we spent the afternoon and evening at Arlene & Mike's to celebrate Tyler's 18th Birthday. Torrie took Tyler out the night before and I was surprised at how well they looked, Tyler said she had lots of fun at "Union" and they danced all night.
Here are some photos...
Big Congrats to my sister Carmen for finishing her final paper and completing her MBA!! You ROCK!!

That's all I have for today. I haven't done any scrapbooking this weekend, so that's what I'm off to do now. Next weekend I'm off to Meadowlodge for a girl's scrapbooking weekend!!! Can't wait, so this week I will be preparing and packing up the things I need (my vehicle will be stuffed to the roof, because I wouldn't want to be without!)...Yeah!!

Have a wonderful Sunday Everyone!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all you mom's out there... And a special HMD to my mom! Hope you have a great day!
Here is a little something for you!
Papers are all from Basic Grey, journaling card is BG, Flowers and felt from Prima.

Tomorrow is FRIDAY!

Wow, this has been a fast moving week! Yippee! I have been feeling so sleepy this week, I think it started with the lack of sleep from the weekend (too much scrapbooking) and then last night I went to a baby shower in St. Albert, and went to bed later than I should have. As I was heading to bed Marv asked me to set the alarm for 0450!! He had to drive to Calgary for some training this morning and had I known this I definitely would have been in bed earlier....then when he did leave the house at 0520 he set the motion detector alarm on... which meant when I walked down the stairs the alarm blasted me...and I had to quickly shut it off!! Men!

I thought I would share a couple pictures of the lovely snowfall we had this week, needless to say it will be good moisture for us. I could barely lift the shovel the snow was so heavy, I guess this is what is like on coast when they get snow. My poor cedars I fear are trashed as the snow was too heavy for them, the branches were close to the ground - no pictures as I shook the snow off them immediately when I got home.

This weekend we are going to Arlene & Mike's for dinner on Saturday as it was my niece Tyler's 18th birthday this week! I wonder if she will be mobile Saturday as she will be celebrating Friday night! Hee Hee! Oh to be 18 again!

I cannot forget Carmen's birthday (it was yesterday) so we are kind of celebrating hers as well. Carmen will be ecstatic come Monday at about midnight when she submits her final paper for her MBA - 4 more sleeps Sis! We are all rooting for you!

Okay well that is all for now - oh maybe not, I will share one layout that I forgot to post last week. This is something I did for another class I am taking at BPS called Textuality. It's a short 4 week class on words, journaling, titles etc. The assignment was to find a photo that you could write 450-475 words about, obviously it needed to be something that provoked feelings or memories and so here is my layout...of my grandparents.
I used Basic Grey patterned paper and Prima flowers, one of the ladies from last weekend gave me the little green chipboard piece so I'm not sure where that is from, the bling is Prima as well. Love the lilac paper - it goes so well with grandma's sweater!! (She loved wearing lilac or purple, but her most favourite color was green - her walls in the house were painted green).

Take care and have a great TGIF!

National Scapbooking Day!!

Wow!! What an AWESOME time we had at the fabulous TM!! These gals know how to put on a party! Friday night was the Red Carpet Event... They actually had the red carpet laid out with a black curtain for photo op's before you walked the carpet and later in the evening they had an awards ceremony (which I will get back to in a moment).
I completely forgot about the red carpet event and as people arrived there were a few crowned and pageantry dressed women, so my friend Wendy and I improvised and decided we could design our own little outfit complete with purses. We made ourselves pink crowns with sparkles and jewels and called ourselves "The Dimensional Divas". Once we had our crown made we created a bikini bustier with patterened paper and ribbon, and lastly what does every diva carry? A purse with a doggie inside! That's right... we made those too.  There are pictures to prove this, and when I scrap them I will share with you!
Getting back to the awards ceremony...It was so cute and very well planned... They had several awards, these are what I can remember; Best Dressed, Best Layout, Most Productive, Best Lady Gaga, Most Outgoing, Most Comfortable/or At Home In the Store...there were I think 7. The coolest thing about this award ceremony, is that the ladies (the design team) from Treasured Memories all made the awards and they were spectacular...really, these gals are very creative. Each of the winners received an original design and if you haven't guessed it already... I won the "Most Outgoing" award...Ha! And not to be disrespectful of the others, I believe I won the most creatively designed statue!! See for yourself...

See what I mean, huh?? Alright, so this little number was made by no other than the seriously talented and artistically amazing Lisa!!!  It says "there is a little Wonder Woman in each of us". Nice eh? Love it!

As well, my friend Wendy won the "Best Layout" and her award was made by the fabulous Nadine and you can see the award on Nadine's blog.

Saturday was awesome as well, Nadine was there to do make and takes and here is a tag we made with gorgeous paper and pretty glimmer mist!
What I love most about this tag is the flower we got to make from a coffee filter! Isn't it gorgeous!!
We also made a beautiful flower to clip on our shirt, however!!!! I could not find it this morning to take a photo of it...sorry!
Other highlights from the weekend; the awesome goodie bags and door prizes and food! Yes the food... Friday night we had Olive Garden (the mushroom ravioli was mmmm delish), Fiefendeckal  and Taco Del Mar on Saturday night. I would love to have been able to go today as well, I'm sure the women are having a grand time, however, I do need to get some things done before the work week starts....
So with no further adieu, here are 3 of the layouts I made (yeah, I was socializing a bit, but come on, the layouts were intricate)...I actually got 4 done but the battery on my camera died, so you will see the 4th one at a later date!
The photo is of my friend Heather and I while we were nursing in Guatemala. You can't see it very well in this photo but behind us is one of the Volcanos (there are 3) on Lake Atitlan, and we are just waiting for some boats to take us across the lake to a small community where we set up our clinic.

This LO is for my Dimensional Design class at Big Picture Scrapbooking, by Nic Howard. Ooooh the best part about being at the store this weekend was all the shopping I got to do, ewwww weeee! This is the new My Minds Eye paper and the beautiful prima flowers I have been coveting for weeks now. The swirl is from my stash (it's by Magenta), and I decorated it with Smooch and Stickles. The tags and tickets are from Making Memories (the brown tag I stamped with a prima stamp).

Here is the second LO....
This LO shows vertical framing of the photos, I did some distressing and curling of the papers (all from MME) and added the gorgeous snow drift piece from Riff Raff.

It was so good to see Kara this weekend at TM! Kara... you are awesome girl!!!

Well...that's about all I have for you! Now, if you were unable to get some scrapbooking in yesterday to celebrate National Scrapbooking Day, there is always today! So come on take some time to let your creativity flow...

Happy Sunday Everyone!
