It's Been A While!

Alright, another crazy week is complete!  First, I have to say, what a great weekend I had at Treasured Memories.  It was the Scrap Pink Event and the ladies at TM did not disappoint.  They had a silent auction where a portion of the money will go to support Breast Cancer research, along with, $10 dollars of everyone's crop fee.  I am quite happy with what I accomplished!  First of all, those who know me will understand when I say I am "freakin' amazing" to have completed my sister's guest book under 4 hours!  What can I say, I was focused... Of course I did have some help from my friend Brenda (thanks Brenda for taping the pages together!!).  Unfortunately, I forgot to take some pictures of the book before I handed it off to Carmen.  So, maybe after next weekend (the wedding!!!) I will have a chance to do this.

Anyway, I do have some pictures of an awesome mini album I finished (I know, two mini albums in one weekend...((wink!)).  This is a gorgeous kit from the very talented Nadine of Delight Designs.  When I saw the album, I could not resist buying the kit.  She used the "Knott Wood" from Riff Raff and let me tell you, I had lots of fun making it.  Nadine's instructions are very easy to follow for those who may not have much experience working with mini albums.  The simplicity of this album is what makes it so beautiful.

Here is a picture of the Table Sitting Chart for the wedding.  Sandy, the Maid of Honor, wrapped the chart and I cut out and designed the cards.  It is not completed, but I think you get the idea.

Last weekend, was Carmen's stagette and I wanted to share some pictures of this.  We had dinner at the Chop House, it was spectacular...

Fall

My most favorite time of the year!  Fall!  I loved the drive home from work today, you can see the leaves changing colors.  I read somewhere that you decorate your home in the season that you love.  Well, if that is the case, then it's true. I love all those earth tones of oranges, reds, and greens.  So when I think of fall I think of boots and warm sweaters.  Check out these boots from Anthropologie

These boots are a bit different and they make me think of Robin Hood and Maid Marianne, which could be a good thing....

 

These are sexy, little booties!  However, not very practical in the snow.  Although, sometimes we need to be a bit frivolous...

So that's all I have for tonight!

Tomorrow I will be meeting Carmen and Sandy at the bridal store, it is Carmen's final fitting and we will learn how to tie her up! Ha!  Then Saturday night is the stagette...  dinner at Chop... then some Vegas style gambling at the River Cree!  Woot!

Tailgate!

So we decided to take the LRT to the game and at one of the stops all these Calgary Stampeder fans got on 3 cars behind ours. It was so funny, because every stop thereafter when the doors would open, all you could hear is screaming and hollering! They were very rowdy and all we could do was smile at their excitement! (I really need to learn how to use my photoshop, so I can remove people from pictures!!)

Football!

So tonight we are going to the Eskimo vs Stampeders game. I rarely ever watch football, but this should be fun. Marvin got tickets thru his work, and we will be in the end zone at the tailgate party! Woo Hoo!

This has been a busy day, I went to the tailors to have my bridesmaid dress altered, just some minor adjustments needed. Then I had to meet with Sandy (the matron of honor - see the pic of us below!) We went for sushi at a little restaurant on Whyte Ave. and then to Transcend for a much deserved mocha latte! (If you haven't had a chance to check out this coffee shop, you should, they roast their own beans and they are awesome). Anyway, we had work to do! Really we did! We started writing our "Toast to the Bride" speech, and we actually finished it! Wow! I have a few more duties, I am creating the guest sign in book and the board that has the seating arrangements. Looking forward to making both.


As well, my mom is feeling better, she was in the hospital last weekend for neutropenia. We hope her appointment next week with the oncologist goes well and that her chemo treatment will still be scheduled for Sept. 18th. Take care of yourself mom!

Aprons...

I have been coveting these little aprons! Ha! Now, I remember the big heavy aprons my mom wore, with sayings like "The Cook", or with pictures of roosters etc., but you really need to see what Anthropologie has for aprons!


Ooh La La! is all I can say. I wish I could sew, because I would make myself a hot little number like this one.

Birthdays & Showers!

Wow...I cannot believe how busy I have been... It all started last Friday night when I made a last minute decision to go to my favorite place... okay, come on now, for those of you not in "the know" I'm not sure how much more clearer I can make this! My favorite place is Treasured Memories. That's right, if I could, you know I would, if I could I would live there. Ha! Okay, maybe I'm stretching it a bit. Somehow I don't think Chantel would let me! Anyway, I called up my good friend Brenda and the two of us had a fun time. For the 6 hours I was there, I made two cards! Not bad... Ha!

Saturday we were at my sister Arlene's home to celebrate Mike's 50th Birthday! You can see below the card I made for him... Party Hearty... and we did. I might have had some tequila...

Sunday was the Bridal Shower for my sister Carmen! Sandy and I, being the bridesmaids, planned an afternoon shower for Carmen which she really enjoyed! Below is the card I made for her using my leftover Treasured Memories monthly kit! I love the colors.
Here is a picture of Carmen after opening all her gifts and thanking everyone for coming. Sandy made her a necklace. We scared Carmen earlier by telling her we were going to make her wear a bridal shower hat, that didn't go over very well. I think the necklace was a good compromise!
So that was my very busy and very fun weekend!
