Well mom had her appointment with the oncologist today and he told her the cancer is grade II and she was given three options for treatment:
  • to take hormone replacement therapy (50% chance of recurrence)

  • to take the chemo (four rounds, each round three weeks apart)

  • or to be involved in a study, which of course would not guarantee the right treatment.

Mom has decided to go with the chemo... I think this is the best option as it has about a 30% chance of recurrence. This is what she has been preparing for and so this is what she chose. They may even be able to start her chemo as early as next week! This is good.

I have had many people ask how she is doing and everyone is amazed how well she is. I tell them she has a positive attitude and is going to fight her way thru this...

I love you Mom!

I Made it to 39...Happy Birthday to Me!

So today is my birthday... Yeah me! One more year and I hit the big 40...

So let me see, this will be a year to prepare for my 40th...and so these are some things I reslove to do in the final year of my 30's:

1. Take on a healthy attitude...that's right, I resolve to lead a healthy life. I will be more conscientious of my body and what it needs. That means to fit at least 30 minutes of activity in my day...now I'm not perfect but need to start somewhere. I keep saying I need to do it, so now I will do it.

2. As per my gal Heidi Swapp (see my very first blog post) I resolve to lead a more positive life, negative energy is draining, it only makes us tired and ill. So I will identify those things that take up too much bad energy and will replace them with the good stuff!

3. I resolve to take at least 20 minutes a day to be creative... (this will actually help with # 2.).

4. I am going to do something I would never do, something scary but exhilirating (when I know what it is I will let you know, just thinking about the possibilities makes me scared).

5. I will be more organized...with my house that is. I will make a monthly list of things I want to accomplish (like cleaning out my clothes closet ((Yikes!!)), and will cross them off as they are completed... Yeah, I can do this! (I will enlist the help of my friend Martha - she is very good at organizing!)

6. I will take some sort of classes to help enhance my creative mind!

So there you have it... my 39th year resolutions... no going back on them because now you all know what they are! Ha! Ha!

My Boy...

Here are some pics of Edwin enjoying the day! He got a bone and barely looked up... what a good boy!

More LO's

Thought I would share some layouts I completed Friday. I love this picture of the Golden Gate Bridge... Driving across it gave me goosebumps! I was thinking of all the movies it has been in and couldn't believe I was actually seeing it for real! San Francisco was so much fun! There was tonnes of things to see and do!
I thought I would make a mini album of the San Diego Zoo, so here is one of the pages I completed...the Koala's were all sleeping when we arrived...how cute!!

What I love about summer...

Summer is great isn't it? Full of time spent in the great outdoors, enjoying the weather and more than anything... BBQ's. Yup, that's what I love about summer... Marvin made ribs last night, and I'm not shy to admit, I was drooling from the smell of the smoke from the big egg... the big green egg that is! No after shots of the ribs, they didn't last long enough...Hee Hee!  Even the neighbor was asking what we were cooking, I guess he could smell the smoke, he was impressed (we gave him a rack to try)...

So I love Rhonna's blog, she has awesome ideas...check out this necklace...my favourite is #4!
I might have to check my drawers, I'm sure I have some things I could find to make one of these!

I'm also going to leave you with a picture of a card I made for one of Marvin's employee's...

Exciting News!

We were invited to Aunt Linda's 70th Birthday party where it was announced that she will be a Grandma! My cousin Trevor and his lovely wife Sandra are expecting in January. Needless to say we were all shocked but very happy for the MacLean family... Truly wonderful news! Here is a picture of the grandma to be... apparently she knew before we all arrived and I was quite amazed at how well she was able to contain herself...

A picture of Trevor, Lynette and Carmen.

It's so easy to get caught up in our own little world and forget about what others might be up to... We all lead busy lives, but when it comes down to it, it's memories of family and friends that are important... Wow, what a great evening... there was plenty of food and lots of fabulous wine! Very nice to catch up with Trevor and Lynette! We discussed having a reunion of the Will daughters and cousins... possibly in Toronto or Ocala... Yes Trevor we will keep the dream alive! Ha!

What a great time we had...

Well the Anniversary Celebration has come and gone, here are a few of my favourite pics. Bev made a really nice powerpoint presentation we watched after dinner. Mom and dad had a great time and it was nice to see their friends and cousins.
